Notwithstanding the legends and myths mentioned in the Chronicle written by Václav Hájek of Libočany, the first written reference about Liboc dates back to 993, in the founding charter of Břevnov Monastery drawn by Czech Prince Boleslav II, who founded the first monastery for the brethren of the Benedictine Order.

Old Liboc is predominantly a garden city with urban villa houses. This fact was the starting precondition for architects who were commissioned to design a new residential complex - Nová Liboc. The result of the mutual cooperation between the developer and architect is a complex of modern low-rise buildings which smoothly establish touch with the built-up neighbourhood.

The conveniently situated development site benefits from its close contact with nature. Within a few minutes' walk is the royal Star summer palace with the game park (Obora Hvězda) and a natural pond (Libocký rybník) is close to the house. A five-minute walk takes us to Džbán water reservoir, and also to one of the most enchanting natural landscapes stretching across a wide valley in Prague - the protected landscape area Divoká Šárka (Wild Šárka).

Overcoming only short travel distances, Nová Liboc residents can reach different destinations as required - either for education, leisure or shopping. Closely located are the Shopping Park Zličín, Shopping Centre Šestka, Delvita, a health care centre, the international nursery and elementary school, and Gymnázium Arabská.

Nová Liboc residential complex consists of thirteen low-rise buildings with access ways from the service road called Naardenská street. The service road twists around eight buildings in an irregular ellipse, from one end of Krajní street to the opposite one. The five other buildings are situated along the external border of the service road in the area spreading out toward the banks of the natural pond Libocký rybník. The space distribution of buildings forms an enclosed area within the complex. The security, cleaning and maintenance of the whole complex will be ensured by a permanent ground service and CCTV surveillance system. Cleaning and maintenance services will be provided by CENTRA, a.s.. All buildings are based on one conceptual design. The basement floor is reserved for technical service facilities (boiler room, drying room, storage space for waste containers, etc.), underground garages and cellar units. Each apartment has its own cellar unit and a minimum of one parking place available.

The first stage of the project offering 141 apartments was completed last year in autumn. The second phase offering 43 housing units is planned to be delivered in spring 2007 with an occupation date scheduled for summer 2007.
